Hi! My name is Alicia Jeanne, and I am a Developmental Editor! I want to help you fix all of the above and more! Not only have I published two books of my own, with plans to publish many more, but I am also an expert on multiple genres of books and have read thousands of books in my lifetime.

How does Developmental Editing work?

It starts with a conversation, which is the easiest part of the process. We set up a zoom call (or something similar) and talk about your book and the goals you have for it. Once I have a better understanding of your goals and ideas, you send me an up to 3,000 word sample of your book, and I will give you a sample of my developmental editing style so you can make sure our styles mesh well.

Once you review the edits I send back to you, we sign a contract, and you send your manuscript to me. It will take me some time to get the first round of developmental edits to you (at minimum a month) and then I send them back to you.

When you receive your developmental edits back, it may look terrifying. You will see comments, track changes, your sentences and words will be moved around, and seeing all these changes might make you feel like your work was terrible. That is not the case at all!

The comments, track changes, and everything else you see is just the next step towards turning your book into a masterpiece!

Pricing and Contract

The starting price for developmental editing services start at $0.02 cents per word, and depending on the complexity of the project will go up from there.

In addition to getting an upfront quote for your book, you will also get a signed contract. The contract will ALWAYS include an NDA as well as an Anti AI statement. You will never have to worry about Get Rekt Publishing selling your story, your story idea, or uploading it into an AI server.
